Time for me to start applying the LongTail in my own business
The more I look at the LongTail the more I can define it’s uses not only for business in general but for my own business. Thus I’m going to take my own advice and start to really digg and apply the long end of the tail to my business. Heck I’m not looking for millions of people I’m only looking for a few hundred. So to that end I’ve gone out and pruchased some software that will allow me to build multiple memebership sites. For those of you who don’t know this, memebership sites are all the rage on the net. I’m not talking about some dating site or general topic I’m talking about really looking for very specific niches and then building a small following of people who will pay each month for the rights to read what you have to say. Looks to me to be a perfect little business. I have plans to start ten. What they are will be revealed later but look at some of the numbers on this stuff. Ten sites with just 250 members each (that’s really small) equals 2,500 members who, if they were each paying $20 per month, would produce a nice steady monthly cash flow of $50,000. So if you are tired of working and looking for a nice long tail application look no further than building yourself a suite of virtual real estate membership sites centered around members who are eager to send you money each month for great content.
