Web 2.0 is totally unlike Web 1.0…enter Mr. Long Tail…part 2
What has lead to this tremendous change? I believe that the revolution started with the youth of America and is now tricklingly down throughout society as a whole. Our children no longer watch TV. They are on there computer much more than they ever watch TV. That has presented a siginificant problem for advertsiers trying to reach those kids in the 18 to 30 year old age bracket. Communication is the key surrounded by the experience. TV provides neither. One needs to look no further than MySpace to grasp the revolution at hand. When it was first created MySpace was dominated by the 18 to 35 year old crowd. Today it is estimated that over 45% of all accounts at MySpace are held by people over 35. In just a few short years we have ushered in a new era of communication followed by a live and gratify experience. What does this mean for you and your business? It means that unless you are following these major trends and taking advantage of the tremendous opportunities that exist you will be left in the dust. Traditional news media like newspapers and magazines are dying a rather fast death. Unless you change your perception of how your business should be run and how you need to reach your customers you and your business will also suffer a fast death. Traditional forms of advertising work less and less every day. The good news is that you can be on the cutting edge of change just by taking advantage of the “new communication” tools that are prevalent. The trend is only going to grow and if you want to grow your business you need to jump on the bandwagon as the curve starts to ascend and get off the one that is descending.
The fact that less than .4% of all websites are properly optimized for both traffic and SEO is your ace in the hole. While most website owners have no idea as to how to make a change let alone even know that they need to make a change you have the superior competitive advantage in that you can make a change. A change that will change your business and make it grow while your competion sits on the sidelines trying to figure out what you have done to make such significant gains. The best part of this change is that you can make the change relatively quickly and at a nominal cost.
In order to make a change one needs to have the tools to implement the change. More than ever the tools to make a change are readily available and many come as plug-ins that allow for lighting fast implementation and results. While it would require another complete article on all the possibilities that exist today for making that change let us just say that the tools for domination are everywhere. We will highlight some of the more useful methods that provide for increased monetization, organic traffic, natural traffic, increased indexing, increased SEO rankings, long tail tactics and the overall success of your website or blog.
